Bilkent Holding was founded in 1968 by our founder, Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı, to operate in the construction sector. TEPE BETOPAN YAPI MALZEMELERİ SAN. TİC. A.Ş., operating under Bilkent Holding, established Turkey's first cement-bonded particleboard factory in Bilkent, Ankara in 1984, starting production under the registered brand betopan® and achieving its first export in 1987. In 1999, the factory was revised using modern technology systems, doubling its capacity. In 2001, as a result of ongoing R&D efforts, the company added betopanplus®, yalıpan®, and taşonit®, all of which have patented A2 fire resistance classification, to its product range. In 2008, the production line located in Arhavi was moved to the Ankara-Bilkent facilities, consolidating all production at a single location. In response to the growing interest and demand for exterior panels and cladding systems, the company expanded its product range in mid-2011 with new textured surface products. In 2014, with an investment made in the Ankara ASO 2nd Organized Industrial Zone, the company began production of next-generation fiber-reinforced cement boards under the tepePAN® brand at its factory certified with LEED Gold.

Keeping pace with global developments in the construction sector and quickly adapting, the company began producing Turkey’s first ready-to-use, paint-free, water-repellent, self-colored fiber-reinforced cement boards in smooth and various textured finishes under the Tepe Unique® and Tepe Unique Pro® brands at the tepePAN® factory in 2019. Following an investment in presses, tepePAN Pro®, known for its high durability, was added to the product range, and the same year introduced a new generation roofing underlayment board branded tepePAN Roof® to the sector. The UKCA product conformity certificate, required for exports to the United Kingdom, was obtained for betopan® factory products. In 2022, the company relocated all its management functions to its new headquarters, designed in corporate colors and modern architecture, adjacent to the betopan® factory located on the Bilkent Holding campus. Being aware of the environmental impacts created by production processes, the company implemented eco-friendly production in compliance with international standards, and in 2022 earned the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certificate for products manufactured at the betopan® and tepePAN® factories.
